Dear members of the “Three Committees” of the Eastern District,
I am Dana Lau, Juris Doctor. I graduated from University of California San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Neuroscience. After graduation, I returned to Hong Kong and have worked at the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF). In 2015, inspired by the chair of the New People's Party, Mrs. Regina Ip, I felt that young people should contribute to society and thus joined the New People's Party to engage in community service in the Taikoo district.
Over the past 8 years, I have been dedicated to assisting residents in resolving livelihood issues, promoting public participation in local affairs, organising community engagement activities, and assisting in promoting government policies. Since engaging in community service, I have been dedicated to advocating for the well- being of residents from various aspects. I address issues of environmental health, transportation, housing, urban planning, and infrastructure that are of concern to the public. I also have provided legal consultation and building management support to the residents. I look forward to working with you all to build a better community.
I have had the privilege of serving in several government positions, including the Youth Development Commission the Road Safety Council, the Fight Crime Committee of Eastern District, and the Hong Shing Area Committee of Eastern District, etc. These positions have allowed me to contribute my efforts and deepened my understanding of the importance of establishing a communication bridge between the public and government departments.
I am confident and will do my utmost to serve the Eastern District and Hong Kong. Therefore, I decided to participate in the upcoming District Council Election, aiming to continue serving the community on a wider platform. I sincerely hope that you will give me an opportunity to serve and continue my commitment to the community. Please vote for Dana Lau on December 10!
